Most track meets have rolling start times. This means that there is an order of events and as one event ends, the next events starts. Therefore, it is difficult to tell you what time your child will be competing, so get there early!! Many meets have posted an order of events or even an approximate schedule. Please check the specific meet’s website for more details. Do NOT message the coaches for this information. They will only tell you what is posted here, and they are busy coaching 110+ kids. If after a diligent search of the recommended websites, you still have questions, please reach out to a booster board member.
Most track meets follow the same order of events. All of the track events are the same for both girls and boys. During meets, the girls usually compete first in each track event. For example, the girls will run the 4x100m, and then the boys will compete in the 4x100m. The following list shows all of the events and the order of the running events at each meet (relay meets and invitational meets will often have different events / order).

Details for each track meet are usually not available until 5-10 days prior to the events. Check the Finished Results app and the Athletic.net app during that time frame for meet details. You can also do a google search for the name of the meet.
Weekday track meets usually last 3-4 hours. Weekend meets usually last all day. Bring plenty of water!

If you have a question, ask a “veteran parent.” We remember what it was like as a freshman parent and not knowing all the ins and outs of track meets. We are happy to share our knowledge with you. If the veteran parent doesn’t know the answer, feel free to ask a booster board member. If they don’t know the answer, they can find the answer for you or will direct you to ask one of the coaches directly.
